The NIAIC (Northern Ireland Adverse Incidents Centre) has been made aware that counterfeit fire glass has been found in at least one HSC Trust’s (Belfast Health and Social Care Trust) premises.

The glass was marked with the names 'Glass Works Ireland' and 'Pyroguard' and may not have the correct fire rating.

The brand name of 'Pyroguard' relates to a legitimate fire rated glass designed to meet regulatory fire requirements internationally, this product is manufactured by The CGI Group and has not been supplied to ‘Glassworks Ireland Ltd’ (Unit 6, Hillview Industrial Estate, Randalstown, Antrim BT41 2ED).

A further statement from the Glass and Glazing Federation will follow.
