Planning permission to depend of training

Under a new government scheme, developers could be hit with planning refusal unless they are investing in apprentices and are using them on their projects, reports building.co.uk. Eight local authorities have already signed up to the scheme where firms would be obliged to sign up to apprenticeship targets for construction projects. The WITForum Training Manager, Dave Campbell said, ‘The new initiative is a strong sign from government that they expect our industry to invest in training. The WITForum strongly supports this move that will firstly encourage businesses to invest in training in difficult economic times and secondly to ensure they have investment in training to sustain their businesses and the industry for the long-term.’ Read the full story here:
