The concerns expressed by English Heritage continue to rumble on as the headlines around the UK reflect. With the BBC, Daily Telegraph, Building Magazine, Architects Journal and scores of local newspapers highlighting the English Heritage campaign, many express concerns about what can be done to stop ‘the plague of plastic windows’ now covering the UK.
But in these difficult economic times, preserving the original features of a property maybe a welcome bonus to homeowners trying to retain value.
Simon Thurley, Chief Executive of English Heritage said ‘a survey of estate agents found 82 per cent of them thought that retaining features like original windows added to the value of a property’. He concluded, “For anyone who would say to us, ‘You are just being the taste police and being snobby
