Many BWF members will know that the Federation’s long-serving Techncial Director John Hedgecock was diagnosed with mesothelioma, an asbestos-related cancer, in 2007.  John continues to be in good spirits, despite the discomforts of the treatments he has to undergo, and continues to work as much as he can, mainly from home.

John’s daughter, Lorraine, is planning to follow in Cheryl Cole’s more highly publicised footsteps in August by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to raise sponsorship for Cancer Research.  We are sure that many of John’s friends and colleagues in the BWF and across the industry will want to join the Federation staff in supporting her.

You can sponsor Lorraine via the Justgiving website at www.justgiving.com/lorrainelouise
