Search Begins for New ConstructionSkills Chairman

Sir Michael Latham will step down from the chair of CITB-ConstructionSkills after eight years on 31 March 2010.  The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS which acts as CITB-ConstructionSkills’ sponsor within government, will undertake the process of finding a successor.  As a high-profile public role, the search has to be conducted through an open competition in accordance with a strictly applied public appointments process.   Office of the Commissioner for Public Appointments (OCPA) and ConstructionSkills’ website. Meanwhile, the Department and ConstructionSkills have both contacted the trade federations that work closely with ConstructionSkills to urge them to encourage suitable candidates to put themselves forward.
