The government has announced a new driving scheme will be introduced for all LGV drivers of vehicles over 3 tonnes effective 10th September 2009. All those drivers that fall into the category are required to attend 35 hours of training during a 5 year period and the course may be taken as a block week of five consecutive days or as a one day course per year. Initial cost for the course seem to vary nationally with an average around £100 per day and this would include the £8.75 per day upload to the national database.
