HMO Owner fined £7,600 for fire safety offences

A Southampton HMO owner has been fined a total of £7,600 for 7 fire safety offences under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order.
The offences included fire doors not fitted with self-closing devices (£1,000), poorly maintained fire doors (£1,000 each door) and blocking of a fire exit (£2,000).

Joseph Dorrington was also fined £100 for failing to provide information to the fire authorities when requested.
